We are an experienced Chinese instrumentalist group dedicated to free performance for the community.

Our group was established in 2018 by master erhu teacher Mr. Richard Ng, a member of the Toronto Chinese Orchestra who recently retired. Over the past 30+ years Mr. Ng provides erhu lessons to many Hong Kong and Taiwan immigrants in the GTA. He formed the CMET group to perform for the community as a way to promote Chinese music and knowledge on Chinese instruments. Many of the group members are accredited by the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM). Our musical instruments include erhu, pipa, and guzheng.
We are based in the Greater Toronto Area in the Province of Ontario in Canada.

The performance by the Chinese Music Ensemble of Toronto was truly outstanding – your music, like sounds from heaven, was enhancing and set a marvellous tone for the entire event. On behalf of the Ontario Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Association, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every performer!
